My Philosophy

I believe that we are at a challenging time in American history. The institutional systems that made this country one of the greatest bastions of liberty and justice for all are being disparaged and trampled on by those trying to cast doubt of the integrity and worthiness of those systems for their own gain. There is a lack of civil discourse, a lack of collaborative dialogue and a lack of empathy, acceptance and genuine respect for the opinions of others. Many Americans have moved to the far left of the political and social spectrum, and many have moved to the far right of the political and social spectrum. The best decisions and Americas future rely on moving toward the middle ground and reaching a consensus based on compromise.  When I am elected, I will seek out through deliberation, civil debate and logical, negotiation with my colleagues the decisions that provide for the best policies for the community I represent.
